Compute & Sew Classes

Pfaff Compute & Sew Club — Staff
This is a great opportunity to learn how to integrate embroidery as well as software to create a unique and fabulous project using various techniques and products that you may already have. Each quarter we will feature a theme. The theme for the first quarter is "Texture".

The embroidery component will be offered every third month starting in January and will feature a design from one of the wonderful PFAFF® embroidery collections.  The software component will be offered the month following embroidery (second month of every quarter) and will feature new basic software techniques that will support the embroidery.Compute and sew will be offered the month following Software Club (third month of every quarter) as a way to bring it all together. Compute and Sew will feature a hands-on software lesson as well as a project to sew.

Sewing Classes

Basic Sewing Workbook Class — Sheryl Tedrow
This class is for those of you who are afraid of sewing or of your machine. Want to learn how to make a buttonhole, piece fabric, add a zipper, etc.? Then this is the class for you. Sheryl will walk you through step-by-step and when you have completed the class, you will have a fabulous sample workbook to use as a reference tool. This is just the beginning of a series of classes for the beginner. Class size is limited!

Pattern Techniques Class — Sheryl Tedrow
This class is for those of you who are ready to move from the basics of sewing into the excitement of making your own clothing and accessories from commercial patterns. If you want to learn how to read a pattern, sew darts, insert a sleeve and much more, then this is the class for you! In this class you will learn to understand the terminology in commercial patterns as well as learning the basic techniques you need to know to create beautiful garments from patterns. You will leave the class with a better understanding of clothing construction as well as a workbook full of samples that will help you to complete any garment.

Decorative Stitch Bag Using Your Feet — CarolAnn Williams
This class is a great class to learn how to use your sewing machine and sewing feet. This bag is so much fun and you can use your favorite fabrics. Use your 3 Hole Yarn Foot to create the look of braid on the band and create a ruched handle and gathered bottom with some great new techniques. Quilting, piecing and free motion are all incorporated into this very versatile and technique driven bag.

Conkerr Cancer Sew 4 Kids Event — Shirlee Walker & Staff
Love to Sew or Quilt!  Have extra Cotton or Flannel Fabric at home! Come and join us in our Sew 4 Kids Event! This is a great opportunity to give back to the community as all of these pillowcases go to children in local hospitals that are fighting cancer. Put a smile on a sick child's face and have a great time sewing. If you don't know how, that's okay, we'll show you!! All we are asking for is your time.

This is your opportunity to sit and sew and enjoy time set aside for completing projects that you haven't been able to finish. Make arrangements with friends to sew together, socialize or just come by yourself and enjoy time to work on sewing projects that you've been wanting to complete.

Block of the Month

Stitcher's Garden Appliqué Block of the Month — CarolAnn Williams & Marcia Pollard
This beautiful quilt is to introduce a new way of using different sewing feet each month.  Monthly classes are for “EVERYONE” regardless of what brand or model machine you have.  Toward the end of the quilt, four blocks use the embroidery side of the sewing machine; however, if you do not own an embroidery machine, you are welcome to use a store model for these blocks.   Each block will be handed out one month prior to the class.

PROGRAM DETAILS:

A Registration fee of $50.00 is required for this class.   Each block fee is $15.00 which includes fabric and pattern for each block.   Special discounts will be provided for feet and accessories for this quilt class.
